Welcome Back to the G.O.D.S. Dance.
Below, please note the new dance location for this dance.
This is a Mask-Required Dance.
Gainesville's JoLaine will be calling contra dances to the live music of Big Taters in the Sandy Land.
Big Taters in the Sandy Land are:
• Bill Dudley - guitar
• Rich Crew - fiddle and recorder
• Kathie Aagaard - fiddle
• Wes Maluk - banjo and percussion
At the outdoor, open-air pavilion at Gainesville Health & Fitness Main Center.
Schedule:
6:00 pm Setup
7:00 - 09:30 pm Contra Dance
9:30 - 10:00 pm Cleanup
Suggested Donation:
$10 ages 26+
$5 ages 16-25
Dancers ages 15 and under get in free when accompanied by an adult.
Please bring your own non-alcoholic beverage.
This is a friendly welcoming recreational activity and all are welcome. No partner or experience is necessary. Contra dancing is fun and we will teach you how.
No special dress is required. Wear comfortable, casual attire and soft-soled shoes.
Smoking and alcoholic beverages are not allowed at our dances.

COVID Safety and COVID Protocol:
If you choose to take your mask down or off, you will be asked by a board member or volunteer to pull it up or to go outside the pavilion. Masks are optional for callers and musicians while on stage, wind players necessarily may be unmasked on stage.
If you feel sick on dance night, then please stay home. Please show care for the community and we'll see you next time. Thank you for your honesty and concern for others in our community.
If you test positive for COVID within 5 days after a dance, then please send an email so we can alert others to potential exposure. Thanks. We will collect your current phone number and email at the dance for contact tracing purposes. We are hopeful that we will not have to contact-trace anyone.
We strongly recommend that people be vaccinated and boosted before engaging in this close, aerobic, dance activity.
