When I started teaching dance classes in 2005, I focused on communication, not choreography. In going through the hundreds of pointers I had learned, I saw that all rules for dancing with a partner logically follow from what I call the three laws of Balance, Connection, and Direction. With these three laws, you can precisely define the communication in social dancing. I call the method the ABCDs(tm).
This is the safest, easiest, most natural, and only clearly defined method of dancing with a partner. The method is so powerful that it works the same with every person in every dance. You learn to communicate once. You apply the same method in all your dancing. You learn faster. You avoid bad habits. You get better each time you go dancing.
This is the most effective method for both teachers and students to learn social dancing.
