Richard Powers is a dance historian and instructor at Stanford University specializing in both historic and contemporary social dance. He leads workshops around the world (see below for more about that). His Social Dance class is among Stanford University's most popular courses.

Sat 18 May, 7-10 pm. 5:45 Waltz. 6:30 Beginners lesson a half hour before the contra dance starts. No partner needed. Please wear clean, soft-soled shoes to protect the floor.

Thu 23 May, 6 pm. Stephen Foster State Park CSO is having a contra dance on Thursday evening, May 23, 2019 as a fund raiser for the carillion tower repairs. It is free with donations. No info on suggested amount. Chicken and rice dinner. Bring potluck to share. Starts at 6 pm prior to dance. They have a band and caller from those that are performing that weekend at the annual Florida Folk Fest.
