Nia is a low-impact movement technique, inspired by dance, martial arts, and mindfulness practices. Nia is easily adaptable to all levels of fitness and experience. Ongoing Wednesdays, 5:30-7:30 pm. Feel like a new, fun and challenging hobby? Give Argentine Tango a try. Confirm dates as there is no dancing during breaks.
We will do individual exercises and partner activities to understand this improvisational dance! We will explore various concepts of connection (to oneself, to the music, to the dance partner, to the dance floor, to other social dancers).
Parking is available on campus after 5 pm.
What to wear? If you own a pair of salsa shoes, jazz/ballet flats, or Toms, those work great. If not, bring a thick pair of socks to dance in. Partner Dance? You are welcome to join with or without a partner. Those who come alone will be paired up.

Want to learn tango? Come join the UF Argentine Tango Club for a free beginner tango class. Feel free to join even if you have never danced tango before, there are teachers for whatever level you might be.
Who: Everyone can come. The beginner class is geared for people who have never danced before or who want to practice the basics. The intermediate class is for those who have been to at least some classes and is for you if you feel ready and confident enough to learn some new steps. The advanced class is for those who have been dancing for a long while now and will feature more complicated steps, so ask a teacher to make sure you are experienced enough for this level.

On Monday nights, we go at a pace for intermediate dancers. Beginners are welcome to attend and go at their own pace.
On Thursday nights, the dances you learn are Argentine Tango, Salsa and West Coast Swing. On Thursday nights we go at a pace for beginners. Intermediate dancers are welcome to attend and go at their own pace.
Couples friendly, you rotate as much as you want or not at all. Singles friendly, no partner needed.
The more you dance, the faster you learn. To encourage you to dance twice a week, you get a big discount for coming on both Mondays and Thursdays.
The cost is for one class per person. You are invited to stay for the other classes on the same night at no extra charge.

Each class is one hour and consists of both instruction and dancing.
From 8 to 9 pm there is a one hour Argentine Tango class. From 8 to 10 pm, overlapping with the class, is a two hour Argentine Tango practica. You can participate in either one. The cost for the practica is $5. Student aged folks can come to the practica for free.
On Thursday nights, we go at a pace for beginner dancers. Intermediate dancers are welcome to attend and go at their own pace.
On Monday nights, the dances you learn are Hustle and West Coast Swing. On Monday nights we go at a pace for intermediate dancers. Beginners are welcome to attend and go at their own pace.
Note no dancing on Mondays April 10 and April 17 due to Passover.
