Fri 22 Oct, 9:30 pm. 280 Broadway, 2nd Floor, New York, 10007. 212-625-8369. 10. Dance New Amsterdam - [email][events]
Friday, October 22 Hosted and Curated by Honi Harlow Come be tempted, tantalized and teased by the most enthralling GRRRls of the stage. They sing, they dance, they twirl and twist and lose quite a bit of clothing along the way. The notorious Honi Harlow hosts and curates this magical evening, with performances by Amber Ray, Bunny Love, Rose Wood, Calamity Chang, Miss Ekaterina, Jill Magilo and band Ticket to Ride.
Honi Harlow was nothing but a country girl with big glitter dreams. Her path was chosen for her at the age of 3 when she preformed for a family gathering her “I’m the Boom, I’m the Boom, I’m the Boom Boom Girl” number wearing only her sisters head bands, none of them on her head! Needles to say, her professional career was put on hold for awhile, and her sister was pissed! It was a long and twisted road before she landed in New York and along the way she developed some serious skills: acting, singing, dancing and even choreographing. She has played such roles as Miss Julie on tour in Maribor, Slovenia, Queen Margaret in Lublin, Poland and Helen of Troy in Thessaloniki, Greece where she drank red wine and dance with the Gypsies late in to the night and ruined a great pair of DKNY shoes, but it was worth it!
