For Teens: Week 1: July 27—31, 2009; Week 2: August 3—7, 2009 Register NOW Monday—Friday 10am—4pm daily Teens should be at an intermediate level with three to four years experience in both ballet and modern dance. The teen program is crafted so that students may sign up for one or two weeks. Two-week workshops provide an opportunity for students to continue their training in the fundamentals of ballet and modern dance with a focus on technique, musicality and strength. Students will study in a concentrated daily format and experience a variety of dance disciplines including ballet, modern, jazz, and tap. The Mark Morris Dance Group brings two world premieres to Tanglewood, August 5 and 6, featuring live music by cellist Yo-Yo Ma, pianist Emanuel Ax, and violinist Colin Jacobsen. One dance is set to Ives’s Trio for piano, violin and cello, the other is to Beethoven’s late Sonata No. 4 for cello and piano, Op. 102.
