Samba Workshop w/ Anderson Mendes, Assisted by Mariana Parma Instructors: [Mariana Parma] [Anderson Mendes] Back by Popular Demand. Saturday, September 12 2-4pm (Free Practice 4-4:30pm) Anderson is famous in his native Brazil for his ability to dance many styles, but he is best known for his powerful style of Samba & Salsa. He received wide acclaim in his recent European Tour, and is now bringing his expertise to the US for the first time.
His training in Samba de Gafieira comes from the Master Jimmy de Oliveira in Rio De Janeiro. Anderson studied Jimmy’s techniques and developed them further in the city of San Paulo.
In 2008, Anderson Mendes won first place in both the Third Annual Rey Castro Professional and the Salsa Open Competitions in Brazil. He is one of the Samba Instructors for the International Samba Congress in Brazil, and he is a member of Junior Cervila’s Latin Dance Company.
This workshop will be great for both new students
as well as those who took his previous workshop on August 15th.
